MEJIYUME
- a jig with minnow appearance and weight balance in the centre
"MEJIYUME" is a metal jig designed for slow jigging,
having a real minnow shape and weight balance in the center. It
reproduces the action of bait fish, such as those fleeing away from
predatory fish, or weakening and dying, etc. Because of the
knife-edge back which was thinned to the limit, it cuts the water so
well that no heaviness is felt when pulling the line. The line eye
is designed about 5 degrees lower than horizontal line. Wobbling is
designed to be a bit stronger.
The rod developed to maximize this attractive action is our new
jigging rod "WGJ-XS Series".
The combination of "MEJIYUME" and "WGJ-XS
Series" enables you to reproduce various actions by using
different jerks, i.e.
1) spiral dart, by using slow and vertical jerk up. The edge on the
back and line eye angle produces moderate spiral dart action.
2) slap for a moment and slide, by using strong jerk up which flips
the tip of a rod. The jig slaps the water for a moment as if turning
over the belly and then slide, like weakening fish.
3) horizontal minnow action with rolling and wobbling mixed, by
using side jerk (pulling from side, at a diagonal angle), thanks to
line eye and weight balance in the centre.
At the time of falling, the jig at first makes "sway fall
slide" with slap action mixed, and then changes to
"rolling fall slide" action, which is a great appeal to
fish because of vertical slide action. By controlling line tension,
you can reproduce complicated motion, which makes the jig high in
momentum in a narrow pitch.
